- Each patient should have an ophthalmological examination to see if surgery is possible, in this manner any disease can be detected which might be the cause of the vision problem. For example a detached retina, cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, etc. The cost for this examination is US$73.00. *
- All the patients need a corneal mapping test (topography), corneal thickness measurement (pachometry) and a Specular Microscopy test. The cost for this three tests is a total of US$131.00, * for both eyes.
- Each patient must have a blood examination for HIV-virus, (AIDS) by an outsourcing Costa Rican laboratory, the cost is aprox. US$18.00. *
NOTE: Patients that need surgery with the WAVEFRONT Technology, must have an additional test named "wavescan aberrometry" from an outsourcing clinic, with an aprox. cost of: US$50.00 *
